Pa's shameful "voting"

  • As per an 11/29/2020 forwarded email,
PA Senator Doug Mastriano has filed a Resolution to prevent the appointment of Electors from Pennsylvania due to widespread corruption and cheating. A group of State Reps have sponsored a similar Resolution in the state house.
Please take a moment to send a quick email to thank these courageous elected officials for standing up to the onslaught of dishonesty and corruption. They are standing up for each of us, and will be targeted by powerful forces.
Your note need be long. Place “Thank You” in the Subject box.
Sample:
Thank you for standing up to protect the integrity of our Elections. You are an example to your peers, and to all of America.
Signed...

Feast of the Immaculate Conception, December 8

"Reflecting on the Immaculate Conception of Mary helps us to enter into a profound and life-giving mystery.... lack of self-giving is precisely what ails us in today’s culture. When we prepare engaged couples for marriage, for example, we spend quite a bit of time on what, to many, seems a foreign concept: trusting God with your life.... Because of the serpent’s deception, men and women throughout history have bought into the lie and grasp fruitlessly at all sorts of ways to control their own destiny instead of putting things into the hands of their loving Creator. This is so painfully manifest today by the high incidence of sexual activity outside of marriage, and the death-dealing acts of contraception and abortion.  But we must have hope! Despite the many manifestations of grave sin all around us, God so wants to heal and restore us, that He became Man to save us. By the gift of Mary, conceived without sin, He provided the pure vessel to be the Mother of the Savior.... Pope Benedict helps us understand the Immaculate Conception this way: 'The person who abandons himself totally in God’s hands does not become God’s puppet, a boring "yes man"; he does not lose his freedom. Only the person who entrusts himself totally to God finds true freedom, the great creative immensity of the freedom of good.'  In place of the destructive behaviors that only cause us heartache, let us look to Mary Immaculate, the new Eve, the Mother of the Redeemer, to lead us to the freedom of the truth and to share that truth with others, for nothing shall be impossible for God" (Truth and Charity Forum, 12/9/13)

          • Dr Delgado and Mr Cy Kellett,

While I am confident that you know of the work of such magnificent pro life physicians as Dr Chris Kahlenborn, I found the bulk of your response to be evasive.  You seemed to be obfuscating and NOT clearly acknowledging the scandalous gravity of what the USCCB and the NCBC are allowing to happen under their watch.

Citing ERDs #36, the USCCB and the NCBC are allowing Catholic hospitals to dispense a likely abortifacient to females identifying themselves as victims of sexual assault.

How can "pro life" ethicists downplay this?  As someone said in the 1960s, "If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem."

            • A reminder - from a very surprising source - that destructive notions simply cannot last:
"The first order of business is to counsel you to not get discouraged thinking it’s going to take a jackhammer to destroy the concrete slab they have planned for you. It won’t. Enough weeds and the passage of time will do the trick. Look up some urban exploration videos—mother nature reclaims even the greatest of man’s edifices any time she is given time and opportunity. The battle lines are clearly drawn. On their side are the progressive jerks of Silicon Valley, the entertainment industry, practically every professor and every administrator at every university, the majority of Fortune 500 and many other businesses in America and loads of enemies—both foreign and domestic—who want a weakened West. On our side, there are some supporting players like Chick-fil-A and some Christian-owned bakeries, along with a few politicians. But the primary forces of good are pretty much down to you and me" (Milo Yiannopoulos, 2020).
