Getting Our Church in Order, So We Can Better Witness Against the Culture of Death!

"It is everyone’s hope that rape victims, whether pregnant or not, receive the most compassionate and effective care available. Unfortunately, using Plan B and continuing to cite the faulty Peoria Protocol, based upon what we now know, is simply an immoral compromise—with the unintended consequence of the loss of human life and the abandonment of truly loving and courageous Christian health care" (Dr. Chris Kahlenborn, 4/8/19)

Click to email the Apostolic Nuncio, the USCCB president, Archbishop Chaput (and his auxiliaries), and the National Catholic Bioethics Center, for an IMMEDIATE disapproval of ANY use of so-called emergency contraceptives in Catholic hospitals because of their very, very strong abortifacient potential.

Certain other "contraceptives" can act as abortifacients! As it has long been known that other hormonal "contraceptives" can cause early abortions and are deadly dangerous (e.g., 12) and just about every pharmacy (including those in supermarkets and department stores!) provide such, no parish should be allowing advertisements from providers of hormonal "contraceptives"!

Please speak with your pastor, to ensure that your parish - be it in a bulletin or a directory - does not have such ads.

Especially with Central Jersey and the Philly suburbs so much being a worldwide capitol for the pharmaceutical industry,Why Are We Not Outragedby that industry's atrocities?

The Clericalism of Father James Martin, SJ, and others

A proper understanding of the theology of marriage and family reveals Cana, the site of Jesus's first miracle, to be of enormous significance to the appreciation of the Sacrament of Marriage and the vocation of husbands and wives.  I had the opportunity to ask Father James Martin, SJ, why he did not include Cana in his book, "Jesus: A Pilgrimage" (A book, which by the way, received a favorable  review from Archhbishop  Chaput.):
While it is certainly to his credit that he responded, I found Father Martin's answer unsatisfying.  Elsewhere, his online visit to Cana confirms his failure to "get it."

Father Martin is certainly not evidencing appreciation for the unique theological significance of authentic marriage between a man and a woman, which signifies and makes present God's love for His people.  Most tragically, few bishops and priests are calling him on this - Is this because clericalism interferes with their own "getting it"?

              • "Those within the Catholic Church who wish to attract and engage young people in the Faith must embrace a radical commitment to truth. I’m going to be very specific. Here are the things that young people need to hear about.
                • How pornography, masturbation and fornication are hurting them.
                • How to stop looking at pornography and masturbating.
                • How to have a healthy relationship with members of the opposite sex.
                • Who God is and why he love us.
                • How to understand God’s mercy.
                • How to understand the differences between men and women.

                • How to find meaning in their lives.
                • How to pray.
                • How to find God’s will.
                • How to discern and follow their vocation...
The reality is that the large majority of young people spend the large majority of their time on social media. They are on Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube and others, for pretty much all of their free time and then some. If Catholics want to engage young people, they will have to go where the attention is" (National Catholic Register, 10/14/19)

"I will be standing on the top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand."

                29th Sunday in Ordinary Time

                (signed homily)

                • "St. John Henry Newman’s insights into the function and meaning of conscience 'could not be more timely' given widespread moral confusion in the Western world....Archbishop Fisher said Cardinal Newman’s theology of conscience offered an antidote to the moral relativism that was convulsing many societies. The power of Cardinal Newman’s teachings, he said, could be seen in the witness of the White Rose, an anti-Nazi movement in wartime Germany, which found the courage to defy Adolf Hitler partly after studying the new saint’s writings on conscience. Sophie Scholl, the most famous member of the White Rose [link added], was just 21 years old when she was beheaded in Stadelheim Prison, Munich, in February 1943 after she and her brother, Hans, flooded the famous Lichthof (atrium) of Munich University with leaflets inciting students to oppose Nazism. He cited scholarly research to emphasize how Cardinal Newman’s works influenced Sophie Scholl in particular....George Weigel of the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington, D.C., told how the nonviolence and Christian resistance of the movement 'was formed in part by a serious spiritual and intellectual encounter' with Newman" (CatholicPhilly.com, 10/14/19

                  • Is it Ethical to Give Emergency Contraception in Catholic Hospitals? (Chris Kahlenborn, MD, 4/8/19
                    • Will our Catholic hospitals love people enough to practice in a manner truly in accord with God's truth about marriage/family/sexuality - proclaiming that truth and steering people away health care providers who do not understand that truth?
                      • Will our Catholic hospitals cease all provision of so-called "emergency contraception"?
                      • Will our Catholic hospitals discontinue all association with those providing smorgasboards of prohibited services in their outside practices?
                • "a major authoritative report by the US National Council on Disabilities, a federal agency, on disability and assisted suicide has been overlooked by the media. Assisted Suicide Laws and Their Danger to People with Disabilities is a scathing analysis of arguments in favour of assisted suicide....The report finds that safeguards are ineffective and that there is little oversight of abuses and mistakes. Why wasn’t this on the front page of the New York Times? Or even on Page 13?.... In eight American states and the District of Columbia it is legal for doctors to prescribe lethal drugs to patients diagnosed with terminal illness and with a prognosis of six months or less to live, if certain procedural steps are followed" (Mercator.net, 10/14/19
                • "It's also concerning that not that many of our Church leaders seem to be bothered by these numbers. I actually expected the Pew poll news to set off some alarm bells, but it appears I was mistaken. Instead, stories on the Amazon Synod and the Germany Synod quickly re-grabbed the headlines. The '69 percent of Catholics who don't believe in the Real Presence' story became old news" (Catholic Stand, 10/13/19
