New Jersey's so-called "Aid in Dying for the Terminally Ill"

On Feb 20, 2019 7:21 PM:
Hello Everyone - according to NJ Right to Life, on February 7 the NJ Senate Health Committee released S1072, Aid in Dying for the Terminally Ill, from Committee and the bill was sent to the Senate Budget Committee and will likely be scheduled for a hearing at a later time.

NJ Right to Life believes the NJ Assembly may vote on the companion bill, A1504, by the end of this month.  Please take a moment to:
  • Call and email your 2 Assembly Members and State Senator urging them to vote No on A1504/S1072.  Please do this even if you have contacted them before.  You can email them with a pre-written message at https://njrtl.org/legislation/ and click on "Take Action Now to Oppose Assisted Suicide".
  • Call your 2 Assembly Members and State Senator urging them to Vote No on A1504 and S1072.  To get the names and phone numbers of your two Assembly Members and State Senator you can call the Office of Legislative Services at 1-800-792-8630 from 9 am and 5 pm (your town and zip code will be needed).  You can also find your 2 Assembly Members and State Senator by your Municipality:  https://www.njleg.state.nj.us/members/legsearch.asp

Attached is a flyer from the Diocese of Trenton about the NJ Assisted Suicide bills.  Please continue to contact your 3 State Legislators even if you have done so before.  This may be the last opportunity to stop the bill.  You can also sign-up for NJ Right to Life Action emails.  Feel free to pass this information on to your contacts.

Thank you!
