- "The most populous nation in Africa, Nigeria for years has faced attacks and kidnappings by the Islamist militant group Boko Haram. The group is estimated to have killed tens of thousands over the last decade. Christians are targeted, sometimes in attacks during Mass. But the Catholics in Nigeria hold fast to the faith 'unto death'" (Catholic News Agency, 2/21/19)
- "We...hereby express our concern with regard to the persistent and continuous propagation and globalization of the homosexual lifestyle and the effort to redefine marriage which is a distorted view of human sexuality, coming especially from the Western world....we pray that God will grant us all the courage, integrity and perseverance needed at this time to uphold the unchangeable truth about the dignity of human sexuality and the sanctity of the institution of marriage" (Catholic Bishops of Nigeria, July 2015).

- "A Hidden Life" is the love story of Franz and Fani Jägerstätter and their children. Franz was beheaded for refusing a loyalty oath to Hitler and has subsequently been beatified. Fani should also be beatified! During his lifetime. Deacon Stephen Greydanus (National Catholic Register, 12/11/19) tells us: "Franz has no reason to think that even his neighbors... will ever think of him as anything but a misguided traitor (and, indeed, for decades after the war, that is precisely how he was remembered)." The deacon shares a quote from George Eliot, which the film maker uses in the closing credits: "the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistorical acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs"
- Film to portray Catholic woman who saved Jewish children in WWII (CNA, 12/23/19)
