  • New Jersey Gov Signs Bill Making It 7th State to Legalize Assisted Suicide, Will Force Taxpayers to Fund Suicides (LifeNews.com, 4/12/19)
"New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed into law today a bill targeting elderly and disabled people that legalizes assisted suicide statewide....Share your disappointment with the governor. Gov. Murphy can be reached by phone—609-292-6000—or by email–https://www.state.nj.us/governor/contact."
  • Here Are The Two Republicans Who Co-Sponsored A Bill To Allow Male Athletes To Compete In Women’s Sports (The Daily Caller, 4/11/19)
"Fitzpatrick won a close race last fall in his re-drawn Pennsylvania district and has frequently voted with Democrats....He was also one of the earliest Republicans to declare his support for gay marriage."
    • In the USCCB's 3/20/19 letter to the U.S. House of Representatives, Brian Fitzpatrick and his colleagues were advised that the so-called "Equality Act would impose sweeping regulations to the detriment of society as a whole. The Act’s definitions alone would remove women and girls from protected legal existence. Furthermore, the Act also fails to recognize the difference between the person – who has dignity and is entitled to recognition of it – and the actions of a person, which have ethical and social ramifications. Conflating the two will introduce a plethora of further legal complications
  • The Church and the scandal of sexual abuse (Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, 4/10/19)
"Today's Church is more than ever a 'Church of the Martyrs' and thus a witness to the living God. If we look around and listen with an attentive heart, we can find witnesses everywhere today, especially among ordinary people, but also in the high ranks of the Church, who stand up for God with their life and suffering. It is an inertia of the heart that leads us to not wish to recognize them. One of the great and essential tasks of our evangelization is, as far as we can, to establish habitats of Faith and, above all, to find and recognize them."
    • Benedict and the Scandal (Archbishop Chaput, 4/11/19)
    • As per Patrick Madrid, the scandal "didn’t just come out of nowhere. There were things that led up to it. And I don’t think many people, even today, are fully aware of what the factors were, some of the historical context that goes into understanding the horror of the scandals in the Catholic Church. They didn’t just happen out of nowhere. But, you know, somebody who does understand this, because he was there seeing as a witness to what unraveled for all these many years, is the Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI” (Relevant Radio, 4/11/19).
  • "A pro-life advocate is suing over Pennsylvania's unlawful protection of the abortion industry that prevents the public from finding information about abortion providers' licenses. Lawyers for the Thomas More Society have filed suit on behalf of Jean Corocco, an employee of the Pro-Life Action League, against the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) for violating the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law" (Anita Carey, 4/3/19)

    • Contact your U.S. senators and representatives today and ask them to support the LIFT for Charities Act! (USCCB)
    • "Senator Lindsay Graham...[has] introduced the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, a nationwide ban on abortion after 20 weeks....Senator Graham has introduced this bill or one similar every year since 2013. Although it has never received the 60 votes necessary for cloture, there is some hope that if enacted, it could now be upheld in an inevitable legal challenge due to the majority conservative Supreme Court (Live Action News, 4/11/19).

    • Tell the Senate to Reject Religion Tests for Judicial Nominees (USCCB)
