As per an 8/5/22 email from NJRTL,
"On Monday, August 8, the Senate Judiciary Committee will vote on Governor Murphy's nomination to make Matt Platkin the next NJ Attorney General. Platkin is Murphy's former chief counsel."On July 11, as Acting Attorney General, he announced the establishment of a Reproductive Rights Strike Force within the Department of Law & Public Safety. According to his press release, the Strike Force will initiate civil and criminal enforcement actions and develop other strategic initiatives to protect access to reproductive health care and abortion for NJ residents and residents of other states who travel to NJ to access such care. The Strike Force will seek civil and criminal remedies against those who intimidate reproductive health providers or patients seeking their services.
"As soon as Governor Murphy announced the nomination back in February, 51 pro-abortion political women operatives issued a letter to NJ Senators urging support for his nomination. One of the first positions mentioned by the group was his 'deep commitment to reproductive rights.'
"As you may recall, we were able to draft a letter and obtain signatures from 183 pro-life women in a very few short days to counter their letter. Our letter was sent to all 40 NJ Senators.
"We know there are more of us out there, so if you weren't able to sign the letter (and even if you did), we suggest that you call and email your State Senator immediately to oppose this nomination....
"If you do not know who your State Senator is, you can click on this link HERE ....You can also call the Office of Legislative Services at 1-800-792-8630...."
