- RE: Last chance to help pass this bill and save lives in PA (Pa Family Council, 10/15/18 email)
- Where do Pennsylvania State Representatives Helen Tai and Marguerite Quinn stand on HB 1410? As per the Pa Catholic Conference, Senate Bill 613/House Bill 1410 would add “gender identity or expression” and “sexual orientation” to Pennsylvania’s non-discrimination law. Changing the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act (PHRA) will jeopardize many churches and their charitable outreach if they continue to adhere to their religious beliefs because the proposals do not adequately provide for conscience protection.....Urge lawmakers to oppose any bill that does not adequately protect our constitutional right of religious liberty." On the morning of 10/16/18, Tai and Quinn are listed as co-sponsors (!) of HB 410 on one list but NOT on the other list!

- We need our bishops to speak boldly for the cause of life. After reading "De facto approval of abortion by Catholic hospitals and parishes?", please urge [will work better directly from web site] USCCB president Cardinal DiNardo, Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop Chaput (and his auxiliaries), and NCBC's ethicists to IMMEDIATELY disallow so-called emergency contraception in Catholic hospitals.

from the Code of Canon Law....
Can. 212 §1.
Conscious of their own responsibility, the Christian faithful are bound to
follow with Christian obedience those things which the sacred pastors, inasmuch
as they represent Christ, declare as teachers of the faith or establish as
rulers of the Church.
§2. The Christian faithful are free to make known to
the pastors of the Church their needs, especially spiritual ones, and their
desires.
§3. According to the knowledge, competence, and
prestige which they possess, they have the right and even at times the duty to
manifest to the sacred pastors their opinion on matters which pertain to the
good of the Church and to make their opinion known to the rest of the Christian
faithful, without prejudice to the integrity of faith and morals, with
reverence toward their pastors, and attentive to common advantage and the
dignity of persons.
