Conservatives are praising mother loss (Them Before Us, 3/26/2022 email)

...this needs to stop

Them Before Us

Dave Rubin, host of "The Rubin Report," carried on conservative BlazeTV, and his partner, David Janet, announced that they are soon going to be the parents of not one, but two babies.

Several large conservative platforms were quick to congratulate the couple - BlazeTV and PragerU among them. And why not? Bringing new life into the world is exciting, right?

Except that these children are purposely set up for lives filled with profound loss by adults who put their own desires before their rights.

What exactly are these children losing?

- These children are losing their right to be born free from commodification. Wombs from two different women were rented, contributing to the commodification of both women and children as products used as a meant to fulfill adult desires. A dream scenario for #BigFertility

- The risk of primal wound is intentionally inflicted upon these babies by severing their bond with the only mother they've known.

- IVF, the first step in surrogacy, is responsible for the loss of millions of pre-born children. While these two children survived the IVF process, what of the lives of those who were lost? Were their lives not just as important?

- These children were purposely denied the right to be known and loved by their biological mother, and are denied the complementary, dual-gender influence that children both need and crave

Adults, especially those proclaiming to be conservative, should never endorse the violation of children's rights. Surrogacy does just that.

, please help us FUEL THE MOVEMENT!

This global children's rights movement doesn't pit gays against straights, or Christians against Atheists. Them Before Us leaders and ambassadors include the deeply religious, the wholly secular, single, married, gay, and straight advocates for children. We need your help to advocate for child-centric policy, publish stories, create podcasts and videos, and advocate with the media. Whether you give $5 or $500, we promise to change the world with every dollar.
