Fw: WEEKLY RESPECT LIFE UPDATE

A forwarded update from one parish in neighboring Mercer County, New Jersey....

40 DAYS FOR LIFE
In less than two weeks respect life people in the Trenton area will be participating in the 40 Days for Life program from September 22nd through October 31st.

Among the many activities planned are a daily prayer witness at Planned Parenthood in Trenton, where we now have two regularly scheduled witnesses each week. Please go to this website for further information: http://www.40daysforlife.com/trenton/index.cfm?load=page&page=151 . You may also call Monica Quaste at 609-273-7248 or send an e-mail to 40daystrenton@optonline.net .

It is hoped that all who have a concern for greater respect for life will participate in this witness or other activities.

The regular witness at Princeton Women's Center will be expanded to include Wednesday mornings from 8:00 to 10:00, in addition to the usual Saturday morning hours which are now 7:30 to 11:30. See the end of this update for information on all prayer witnesses this coming week.

Also, on Sunday afternoon, October 3rd, there will be a Mercer County Life Chain formed at Route 33 and Nottingham Way between 1:00 and 2:30. This will be part of a national life chain on that day across America. If you can participate, or need further information, please e-mail MercerLifeChain@gmail.com or call (609) 610-3522.

LOVING LIFE, DIOCESAN RESPECT LIFE NEWSLETTER
The Diocese is preparing its next issue of Loving Life and would like your input.
Please advise of any pro-life activities or events planned this fall or winter, and also
think about an essay or opinion piece of about 200 words you'd like to share. Submissions or requests for more information may be directed to: DGoodw@DioceseofTrenton.org .

DR. STEVEN BRIGHAM
Those who had received requests from NJ Right to Life to contact authorities in New Jersey regarding abortionist Dr. Steven C. Brigham will be glad to know that New Jersey officials filed legal documents this past Wednesday seeking to suspend his medical license. The complaint alleges that Brigham, whose main regional clinic, American Women's Services, is in Voorhees, "has committed serious violations" of the rules of medical practice and "would represent a clear and imminent danger to the public health, safety and welfare,"

NOTRE DAME DOES IT AGAIN
LifeNews.com tells us that because he participated in the protest that students, staff and pro-life supporters held when Notre Dame University decided to allow pro-abortion President Barack Obama to give its commencement speech, Associate Vice-President for Residence Life Bill Kirk apparently lost his job. Sad when Catholic institutions penalize employees for defending their Catholic faith. Full story at LifeNews.com .

TELEVISION SHOWS CONTINUE TO MOCK OUR VALUES
Please support "One Million Moms" in their protest of horrendous television programming. All it takes is a simple click on, or copy/paste, this link: http://www.onemillionmoms.com/TakeAction.asp?id=375 to lodge your protest to the sponsors of "Family Guy's" latest aberration.

Incidentally, we really like what the Parents Television Council recently said about folks like us: "Those who produce TV programming often claim that the membership of groups like the PTC make up only a small number of the total viewing audience – apparently overlooking the fact that the tiny clique of Hollywood insiders who write the shows are an infinitesimally smaller number. The PTC is delighted that its members and other viewers are holding Hollywood accountable for the shows they produce – even if the FCC isn't."

PLEASE SAVE THE DATE
Life Choices is holding its annual fund raising banquet on Thursday, October 21st, at 6:30 pm in the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse. This is a most important event to help fund the wonderful work being done by these fine people. More details will follow on ticket ordering.

DOES OUR GOVERNMENT PROMOTE MANAGED NEWS?
Concerned Women for America reports that the US Dept. of Health and Human Services (HHS) initially refused to release a study that clearly shows the vast majority of parents and teens believe that sex should be saved for marriage. However, in response to Freedom of Information Act requests, the HHS has released the full study which is available here: http://thenaea.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=e71e76ba0a0760415775e4352&id=e5e0172e1d&e=e2f6ad73c8 . Another example that our Church's teachings and common sense are not being ignored quite as much as the media and entertainment industries would have you believe.

PRAYER WITNESSES THIS COMING WEEK
Princeton Women's Center, Emmons Drive, West Windsor, has recently expanded the hours for the witness from 7:30 to 11:30, every Saturday morning. Park in back of the Palmer Inn on Route 1 South just past the Market Fair mall and we're right across the street. Come for as long or as little as you can. It is hoped the later hours will provide an opportunity for more people to participate.

Planned Parenthood facility at Clinton and State in Trenton at 9:45 this Saturday morning and every Saturday morning for the Rosary. That's all - one Rosary and we leave. You can park right across the street or in a state parking lot next door that is not used on weekends. On every Thursday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 the Rosary is recited at the rear of the facility.
