If you are concerned about movie "spoilers," please read no further!
In the film of the same name, Menashe is a widowed Hassidic man trying to regain custody of his young son. The boy is living with his deceased wife's brother's family. There is a great deal of open tension between Menashe and his brother-in-law, with the brother-in-law charging - among other things - that Menashe did not assist with the deceased woman's "treatment."
While the viewer may be guessing that the wife died from some form of cancer, we later learn that the wife died from a blood clot, after IVF treatments. While the cause of the wife's death does not seem to be a major concern of this film, it seems a positive step that any film touch upon the heinous IVF industry.
