The school districts of Hanover Township, Marlboro, Manalapan, and Middletown were among the first school districts to modify or repeal transgender Policy 5756 to protect children and parental rights.
The policy, which authorizes schools to keep gender identity secrets from parents, was discovered to be mere guidance! However, the NJ Attorney General calls it discrimination and continued to pursue wasteful litigation at taxpayer expense.
These cases have been stalled for many months. Meanwhile, 30+ school districts have since repealed the policy! Parents and school board members know that this policy does not protect children or teachers. They also know that the NJ Law Against Discrimination still applies and provides protections.
