Dear Congressman Fitzpatrick,
I would like to express my sincere thanks for your "yea" vote on H R 3803, the District of Columbia Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. Also deserving thanks for their votes are your colleagues Mike Kelly (3rd), Jason Altmire (4th - particular kudos for voting against the majority of his party), Glenn Thompson (5th), Jim Gerlach (6th), Pat Meehan (7th), Bill Shuster (9th), Tom Marino (10th), Lou Barletta (11th), Mark Critz (12th - particular kudos for voting against the majority of his party), Joseph R. Pitts (16th), Tim Holden (17th- particular kudos for voting against the majority of his party), Timothy Murphy (18th), and Todd Platts (19th)
Since a 2/3 majority was needed, the shameful votes of colleagues like Bob Brady (1st), Chaka Fattah (2nd), Allyson Schwartz (13th), Michael F. Doyle (14th), and Charles Dent (15th - to cast this required voting against the majority of his party) carried the day.
Sincerely,
Wednesday, August 1, 2012
