As reported by C-Fam (Catholic Center for Family and Human Rights),
- "UN officials have produced a preliminary list of indicators to measure development....The indicators could give leverage to governments and activists who press countries to do away with protections for unborn children, and seek to make sexual orientation and gender identity a legal ground of non-discrimination" (UN to Measure Countries’ Access to Abortion and LGBT Acceptance, 3/5/15).
- "Throughout history, children born of war have been subjected to a lifetime of rejection and deprivation from basic needs like health care and education due to the tragic circumstances of their birth" (Forgotten Victims of Sexual Violence: Children Born of War, 3/5/15).
- Oppose the so-called Protect Women's Health from Corporate Interference Act (S 2578)

"The March for Marriage
is set for Saturday, April 25th [at 10 a.m, near the Capital in DC]
which is within days of when the Supreme Court is expected to hear oral
argument on the cases before them that will decide the legal status of
marriage. This case could prove to be the Roe of marriage,
or it could be a great win for us" (Brian Brown, National Organization for
Marriage).
If the Archdiocese does not
organize buses to the March for Marriage (Keep an eye on www.phillycatholiclife.org.),
Amtrak can take you from Trenton to DC's Union Station in 2.5 hours (about $52,
each way).
*In
addition to "ALERTS
CENTRAL" the USCCB notes that "Action alerts for
pro-life issues can also be found through our partner organization, the
National Committee for the Human Life Amendment" and "Action alerts for issues related to
immigration reform can be found through the USCCB-led Catholic coalition,
Justice for Immigrants."
On the state level, the Pa Catholic Conference facilitates requests for our leaders in Harrisburg, to....
- Support equal education funding
- Oppose the death penalty (Thank the governor for the death penalty moratorium.)
- Oppose HB 300 / SB 300 (As the Pa Catholic Conference explains, “In other states, this law has shuttered Catholic adoption agencies and trampled religious liberty….Simply put, this legislation is intolerant and prejudiced against people of faith.")
As per the Pa Family Council,
April 13 will be Life Action Day in
Harrisburg.
As per the Pa Pro Life
Federation:
Also in the News....
- All but a handful of pharmacies - across the country - sell abortifacients and
contraceptives. The St Clare Pharmacy is the only pharmacy in the Bucks
Cty/Jersey area believed to NOT sell abortifacients and
contraceptives. Hence, it boggles the mind that
OLA (Trenton) is advertising Vizzoni's and Episcopo's,
Seeing nonsense appear in parish bulletins brings to mind shopkeepers of conscience forced out of business, because of refusal to compromise their consciences.
OLS/St.Anthony's (Trenton) is advertising Episcopo's and Risoldi's,
St.Ann's (Lawrenceville) is advertising McGrath's and Penlar, and
St. Charles Borromeo (Bensalem) is advertising Riccio's!
