"We cannot pretend to believe that a human force alone will cast out the darkness of abortion and its repulsive industry and sever the grip of the culture of death, which penetrates our world deeply and is in the minds and hearts of people. To defeat evil and counteract the culture of death, we need to bend our knees in prayer, do penance, and offer reparation....With God’s grace, we will bring an end to these crimes against human dignity and inaugurate a Culture of Life." " The website of the University of Notre Dame has a feature post celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride on its diversity and inclusion page this month....As of Wednesday morning, the university’s media relations staff did not reply to CNA’s multiple requests for comment. The university’s campus ministry office told CNA that it was not aware of any plans for an initiative honoring the Sacred Heart in the month of June....The university’s Pride post also encourages people “to explore what it means to be an ally in the effort to achieve equality for all” by offering resources from the pro-LGBT group Human Rights Campaign. Those resources consist of explanations of different sexual identities, ways to affirm those who identify as LGBTQ+, and more....The page argues that “Christians have a moral imperative to reconsider their interpretation of what the Bible says about LGBTQ identities.” (National Catholic Register, 6/9/21)
"I think I’ve finally wrapped my mind around Fr James Martin SJ’s method for undermining sound doctrine and leading souls astray without ever actually committing heresy....there’s always one element left unsaid; one point deliberately evaded.... Fr Martin must, for his argument to work, evade the issue of sex and its proper place in marriage. By being so evasive, he can avoid having to answer whether he thinks the Church is right that marriage is solely the union of a man and a woman....Martin knows that getting the right answer depends upon asking the right question; and so he refuses to ask it." Finding a hypocrite in the Church should be as expectable as finding a sick person in a hospital .... a Catholic should not throw himself out of the Church because he discovered the presence of counterfeit Catholics....There is enough literature available to know what the Church teaches, and enough grace available by which one can live it....We should trust the Church at least as much as we trust legal tender. Moreover, we should be more accepting of counterfeit Catholics than we are with counterfeit money. The former are reformable, whereas the latter is not." (Catholic East Texas, 6/9/21)
