Today, HB 1948 - Dismemberment Abortion Ban - was to be voted on in the State House. There had been a procedural vote last Thursday seeking to postpone the vote.
That motion had been defeated 114-78. So, today, it was anticipated that the bill would pass with more than 120 votes. However, Cecile Richards, CEO of Planned Parenthood,
came to Harrisburg to hold a joint Press Event with Governor Tom Wolf, to oppose the bill.
Suddenly, our House "Leadership" decided not to run the bill - AT ALL. Do they believe that Planned Parenthood has the better side of the argument?
One side seeks to ban the ripping apart of an unborn baby - piece by piece, after the child is able to to feel pain. But one side thinks such a ban is extreme!
How can self-described "pro-life" legislators sit by and take this?
I am urging each one of you to send an email AND make a phone call TONIGHT!
Please call Speaker Mike Turzai, and Leader Dave Reed, and demand that they run HB 1948 AND Defund Planned Parenthood!
