Help Us Safeguard Taxpayer
Dollars from Abortion

By Maria Gallagher, Legislative Director
gallagher@paprolife.org

A state representative is planning to introduce a bill that would threaten your tax dollars. Representative Steven Santarsiero (D-Bucks County) is circulating a co-sponsorship memo for a bill that would repeal Act 13 of 2013.

If you will recall, Act 13 is the common sense law that ensures that no taxpayer funding of abortion will occur in the health insurance exchange created in Pennsylvania under Obamacare. We must safeguard this important law!

Please call and email your state representative with this urgent message: "Please do not co-sponsor Rep. Santarsiero's bill to repeal Act 13 of 2013. I don't want my tax dollars to pay for abortion." (The bill does not have a number yet.)

If you don't know who your state representative is, or you need contact information, please go to http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/legis/home/findyourlegislator/#address.

To view the co-sponsorship memo for this dangerous bill, go to http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/Legis/CSM/showMemoPublic.cfm?chamber=H&SPick=20150&cosponId=20267.

Thank you for making these critical calls and sending these important emails!

Study Proves Viability at Early Stage

We know the lives of all pre-born babies are viable, but a recent study found babies being born earlier and earlier are viable outside the womb. new paper from the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) Pediatrics finds that among premature babies born at 22 to 23 weeks LMP (20-21 weeks post-fertilization) who are given "active" care, 61 to 71 percent survive.

Do You Have a Preemie Success Story?

Was a member of your family born very prematurely? If so, we'd like to hear from you! Please share your preemie success story with us. Just send an email to our Legislative Director, Maria Gallagher, at Gallagher@paprolife.org . We could profile your favorite preemie in an upcoming edition of the PA Pro-Life Online News!

Euthanasia Rebranded

When you have to make up words to mask the inhumanity of what you are trying to defend, it may be time to seek out a new position. However, that is exactly what euthanasia advocates are seeking to do by now referring to euthanasia as "dignicide" according to this National Review article.

Pennsylvania House Passes Pro-Life Bill

The Pennsylvania House last week passed a bill which would require a life sentence for the murder of an unborn child (excluding abortion). House Bill 1799, sponsored by state Representative Marcia Hahn (R-Northampton County), now goes on to the Pennsylvania Senate for review. As Rep. Hahn stated in her co-sponsorship memo, "I believe murder of an unborn child is murder, regardless of the formalism of where this might be set forth in Title 18 (of the PA code)."
