Dear Radio Maria and One More Soul Friends, The International Brain Death Conference in Rome is now history!  And Dr Paul Byrne is back to tell us how the May 20-21 Rome conference went.  One of the highlights of the conference was Dr Paul's interview of former "brain dead" patient Zack Dunlap of Oklahoma.  Even though a Cesium brain scan indicated no blood flow to Zack's brain, his RN cousin did not think that Zack was really dead.  She prayed to God for a sign that he was still alive and God delivered.  Zack is now married, a father, and employed.  There are many other case histories of "brain dead" patients surviving to lead normal or near-normal lives. Dr Byrne will trace the evolution of brain death definitions and their current redefinition of "consent" to an "assumption" of consent for a variety of situations that increase the donor pool by weakening the already illicit definition of "brain death."   One discussed source of vital organs gaining momentum is encouraged by Physician-Assisted Suicide laws that support the theft of the victim's organs before (or as part of) their suicide.  Please pray that this conference will be instrumental in halting vital organ theft.   It is all about money.  The organ donation business/industry is very sophisticated and entrenched in the medical and legal communities with well-paid lobbyists seeking the favor of legislators.
