"A stone that will make people stumble, and a rock that will make them fall."

"When it comes to motherhood, our cultural stream produces both salt water and fresh water: We declare mothers to be irreplaceable in one breath, and say that mothers are completely optional in the next....
In America in 2020, mothers either are our first intimate relationship, the woman whose voice soothed us in and out of the womb, and the body in which we were knit together … or she is just an 'oven' for someone else’s bun"
(Katy Faust, Why We Really Can’t Celebrate Both Surrogacy and Mother’s Day 5/8/20).

  • Unless they cease and reverse flirtations with pro abortion and anti family agendas, how could Catholics posdibly morally vote for Casey, Fitzpatrik, or Toomey?
    • Bob, Brian, and Pat have failed pre born children again (5/2/20
    • Bob, Brian, and Pat failed the babies! (4/16/20)
We rightly "support efforts to ensure that no Americans suffer unjust discrimination. That goal can and must be pursued with respect for all human life and upholding and preserving tolerance, conscience and religious freedom. The 'Equality Act' fails this test. It violates religious freedom, endangers privacy, and will drive many valuable charitable institutions out of existence. Also, the Act as proposed undercuts pro-life laws and could be used to require doctors and hospitals to provide abortions. The 'Equality Act' is an affront to human dignity and a threat to the common good of this country" (Human Life Action).
    • Fitzpatrick cosponsored and voted for the Equality Act in the House.
    • Casey is a co sponsor of the Equality Act in the Senate.
    • "A similar bill, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, or ENDA, passed the Senate in 2013. Four currently serving Republican senators voted in favor of that bill: Sens. Susan Collins, R-Maine, Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, Rob Portman, R-Ohio, and Patrick Toomey, R-Pa" (NBC, 3/11/19).
In the absence of clearly pro life and pro marriage/family alternatives, write in votes are easy and would send a message that NONE are acceptable!  If we let Bob, Brian, and Pat simply continue like modern "three stooges" and snooker us, we will have no one to blame but ourselves.
  • A COVID-19 Vaccine Developed on Aborted Babies’ Cells? (Maurizio Ragazzi, DPhil, 5/7/20
    • As per the Pontifical Academy for Life (2005):
    • Right the Wrong! Stand with Bp Strickland! (Children of God for Life, 4/30/20)
      • Demand a COVID-19 Vaccine Free from Abortion (USCCB, 4/22/20
        • (While I had difficulty with the USCCB link, HHS Secretary Alex M. Azar II can be reached at Secretary@HHS.gov or 202-690-7000.)
  • While ostensibly about lay Catholics supporting coverup of clerical abuse, an Australian article (i.e., Catholic Weekly, 5/7/2020) offers sad insight into how lay people may also contribute to looking the other way in the face of evil in Catholic institutions: "They are usually wealthy and influential, or employed by the Church, or in useful professions. Start with the Boston case, so admirably narrated in ‘Spotlight’- a good reminder that almost all clergy abuse has been exposed by outsider journalists, not by people inside the Church.... there’s sometimes a kind of ‘lay clericalism’ among people who occupy privileged Church-related positions, often working in dioceses alongside bishops and bishops’ conferences.... Covering-up goes on all the time, for all sorts of things – and yes, lay people enable it."
  • Mozambique: The hidden war hardly anyone is talking about (Aletia, 5/1/2020
  • "The correct procedure from the beginning (and if this is Monday morning quarterbacking, so be it) should have been to shelter the elderly and vulnerable—those with pre-existing conditions—and let the rest of the population undergo infection with no or non-severe symptoms" (Bob Kurland, PhD, 4/28/20).  In the 2nd  part of his article, Dr Kurland seems to be suggesting "garbage in, garbage out" (i.e., We have been fed unreliable data.).
