True totals and Catholic complicity....

In the 86 years since the Lambeth Conference and Casti Connubii, we seem to have witnessed what the latter would call a "guilty silence" about contraceptives.  Making that even worse is that we now know that some so-called contraceptives can act in an abortifacient manner.

It is widely estimated that there have been almost 58 million pre born babies killed by abortion in the United States (cf., LifeNews.com), since 1973.  As hideous and staggering as that genocidal total appears, it pales in comparison to the more accurate estimate.  If you count pre born babies killed by the abortifacient effects of chemicals and devices thought to be "merely" contraceptive, the estimate soars to 308 million (cf., Pharmacists for Life International).  As that is the only honest number, it is the only number that pro life people should cite.  Ignorance about actual totals and the deadly effect of certain "contraceptives" have been complicit in one quarter billion additional deaths.

Many who should know better display inadequate understandings of "cooperation," "formal cooperation," "material cooperation," "immediate (v. mediate) material cooperation," "passive/negative cooperation," and "scandal", seemingly dismissing moral culpability for advertising content in parish bulletins.  Are providers of abortifacients/contraceptives included in parish bulletins?  At minimum, questions need to be posed:

advertises Grandview Medical Practices (www.gvmp.org), which includes OB-GYN and Maternal Fetal Medicine.  Has the pastor  vetted that GVMP practices in manners consistent with Catholic medical ethics?
advertises Shop Rite, which in turn advertises the Plan B abortifacient (http://www.shoprite.com/pd/Plan-B/OneStep-Emergency-Contraceptive/1-ct/351285162885/4E53123746/)!

advertises Village Shires Pharmacy (http://www.villageshirespharmacy.com). Has the pastor vetted that they practice in manners consistent with Catholic medical ethics and do not sell abortifacients/contraceptives?
advertises Riccio Family Pharmacy (http://www.ricciofamilypharmacy.com).  Has the pastor vetted that they practice in manners consistent with Catholic medical ethics and do not sell abortifacients/contraceptives?

Since you advertise Mat’s Pharmancy and  Medical Supply (http://www.matspharmacypa.com).  Has the pastor vetted that they practice in manners consistent with Catholic medical ethics and do not sell abortifacients/contraceptives?
