“Religious liberty was among the primary
concerns that ultimately defeated controversial legislation [i.e., so-called
Maloney Amendments] aimed at enforcing ….President Obama’s 2014 executive
order [which] was staunchly opposed by leading U.S. bishops who said it would
infringe upon the rights of religious contractors” (CNA
/ EWTN News, 5/27/16).
